Airbus A380 "Superjumbo" Jet

The Airbus A380 "superjumbo" is the largest civil
aircraft ever built. Designed to carry 555
passengers in a three-class arrangement, it has
one-third more seating capacity than a Boeing 747. A
planned stretched version would carry 656
passengers, and an all-economy-class configuration
would be able to carry more than 800 passengers.

The Airbus A380 is a double-deck, wide-body,
Superjumbo with four-engine airliner manufactured by
the European corporation Airbus. The largest
passenger airliner in the world, the A380 made its
maiden flight on 27 April 2005 from
Toulouse, France, and made its first commercial
flight on 25 October 2007 from Singapore to Sydney
with Singapore Airlines.
The A380-800 has a design range of 15,200 kilometres
(8,200 nmi), sufficient to fly from New York to Hong
Kong at
cruising speed of Mach 0.85 (about 900 km/h or 560
mph at cruising altitude), while you are taking a
shower at 43,000 feet.
The only way to travel...

Singapore Airlines has taken the unusual step of
publicly asking passengers on its new Airbus A380
plane not to engage in any sexual activities. The
potential problem has arisen because the first class
area of its giant superjumbo contains 12 private
suites complete with double beds.
Singapore, which is the first airline to start
flying the A380, said the suites were not
sound-proofed. It said it did not want anyone to
offend other travellers or crew.

The bar area in an Airbus A380 may benefit some
passengers. The plane's main and upper levels will
serve as passenger areas. The lower deck will be for
freight or additional passenger facilities such as
sleeper cabins, child care, gymnasiums, casinos, or
business centers, at the discretion of the airlines
that owns the plane.
